Restoration Updates

Project commencement (03/07/10)

The decision was taken on Wednesday 16th June 2010 to commence work on the BSK to restore it for use in passenger service.

The first step was to seek other members' thoughts on the project, and this was done the following weekend with a resounding approval for work to start.

It has since been discussed with other members as to their opinions on what could be done and the methods to achieve this. It is already possible to commence work on the roof.

At the current time, work cannot commence due to no funds having been raised - something we are keen to do ourselves rather than rely on the society. Another issue is the work to be done at Shirley Road bridge with the railway extension over the next few months.
